Broome County, New York Postal History

Willow Point: July 1, 1908 - October 15, 1918

The Willow Point Post Office was reestablished in Broome County on July 1, 1908.  Prior to that, it
was Willowpoint.  The first postmaster of Willow Point was Stephen L. Noosbickle.  On October 15, 1918,
the Willow Point Post Office ceased operation and began to receive service from Vestal.

                                   on 1 cent blue green 2nd Bureau (#300).
                                   Less than 6 months after name changed to two words,
                                   cancel is still using the one word spelling.

                                   on 1 cent green 3rd Bureau.
                                   Nearly a year after the name changed to two words,
                                   cancel is still using the one word spelling.

WILLOWPOINT/MAY/9/A.M./1911/N.Y.  Black 31mm CDS duplexed with 4 bar cancel
                                  on 1 cent green 3rd Bureau.
                                  Three years after the name changed to two words,
                                  cancel is still using the one word spelling.
