Union: January 11, 1810 - July 1, 1923

The Union Post Office was established in 1810.  The first postmaster of Union was Bryandt Stoddard.
The Union Post Office became a station or sub unit of the Endicott Post Office in 1923.

NEW YORK/JUN/8 Red 26mm CDS, manuscript "17", RED 5x19mm "PAID".  Addressed to Sheriff Broome County.   
               Manuscript "Union/Post Office". Enclosure and docketing verify 1810 year.  Dated less than
               5 months after post office established.  Rate for 150 - 300 miles per Act of March 2, 1799. 

Union - 1830

Union/Nov 28 Manuscript; Manuscript 18 3/4.  Manuscript "Certainly not
             over 400 miles".  Was this a reminder to the postmaster?
             Rate for 150 - 400 miles, per Act of March 3, 1825.

Union May 9 Manuscript; Manuscript 18 3/4.
            Rate for 150 - 400 miles, per Act of March 3, 1825.

Union - 1842

Union NY/Dec 7 Manuscript town and date; Manuscript "Free Thos Noyes P.M./(at East P. Post N.Y.)"
               Under postal regulations, the East Painted Post postmaster could sent mailfor free from any post office.

Union - 1849

Union NY/Jany 29 Manuscript town and date; manuscript "5".
                 Rate for under 300 miles, per Act of March 3, 1845.

Union - 1851

UNION/26/DEC/N.Y. CDS 31mm Red with arcs, date over month; manuscript "5".
                  Rate for non prepaid under 3000 miles per Act of March 3, 1851, 

Union - 1852?

UNION/APR/18/N.Y. Red 31mm CDS with arcs, manuscript date;  Red PAID/3 in 20mm circle.
                  Rate for prepaid under 3000 miles per act of March 3, 1851.
