Binghamton: Censored To England- 1945

BINGHAMTON/FEB 12/530 PM/2/1945/N.Y.  Universal Ca400 machine cancel, 22mm Black CDS with "2" in the dial;
                                      5 cent blue "Prexie" issue (#810) pays the surface rate to England.
                                      Cover was opened and examined by Examiner 6905 and resealed with standard
                                      censor tape.  Letters going overseas during the war were censored.

BINGHAMTON N.Y./DEC/4/1945/STA 1  Magenta 28mm DCDS on rear flap;  Magenta "REGISTERED", black "3544", and  
                                  magenta double oval killers tying two 10 cent brown red (#815) and 3 cent
                                  violet (#807) "Prexies".  Stamps paid the 3 cent first class rate and the 20
                                  cent registration fee for less than $5.00 indemnity effective March 26, 1944.

BINGHAMTON/NOV/28/1945/N.Y.  Magenta 28mm DCDS on rear flap;  Magenta "REGISTERED", black "10303", and  
                             black smudge killers tying 20 cent blue green (#825) and 3 cent
                             violet (#905).  Stamps paid the 3 cent first class rate and the 20
                             cent registration fee for less than $5.00 indemnity effective March 26, 1944.

                             black smudge killers tying 25 cent red lilac (#829) and 3 cent violet (#905).
                             Stamps paid the 3 cent first class rate and the 25 cent registration fee
                             for $5.01 to $25.00 indemnity effective March 26, 1944.

BINGHAMTON/JUL/21/1956/N.Y.  Magenta 30mm DCDS on rear flap;  Magenta "REGISTERED", black "767", and black
                             double oval killers tying 5 cent (#810) and two 30 cent (#830) prexies to 3 cent
                             stamped envelope (#U534c) which paid the 3 cent first class rate and the 65 cent
                             registration fee for $25.01 to $50.00 indemnity effective January 1, 1952.
