The Vestal Post Office was established in Broome County on August 8, 1825. The first postmaster of Vestal was Jacob Round. He served as postmaster until January 10, 1834, when he was succeeded by John E. Cleveland. The Vestal Post Office closed on June 21, 1834 and was reopened as Vestal on September 6, 1834.
